“A heart disease too complex to operate on in Senegal was in danger of being fatal. The life-saving flight to Italy gave him a new future, no longer afraid to laugh, play, live like any other boy his age.”
Faye, the cousin

Bledion, 14
“He was playing football when he collapsed. His congenital heart disease could only be treated in Italy. We flew from Kosovo to Verona. Without Flying Angels he would have had no hope.” Lumnije, the mother

Sibongile, 3
“The doctors feared she would not survive the flight and advised against it, but I knew that here she would have no hope because they could not treat her. So we left, our first flight. As a bedtime story now I tell her about the journey that saved her.” Chengetai, the mother

Faida, 5
“In Burundi, no facility wanted to operate on her complex heart disease because of the -unfounded- suspicion that she was HIV-positive. A life-saving flight brought her to Italy. The operation was completed without complications and gave her a new life. Dylla Gaelle, the mother
Flying Angels Foundation is a non-profit organization that specializes in airlifting seriously ill children who require life-saving care that is unavailable in their home countries.
Flying Angels Foundation assists children from all over the world who need delicate specialist care: it buys for them and their families the airline tickets needed to quickly reach the most suitable hospital facilities or finances the flight of specialized medical teams who can resolve multiple cases together directly on site. It collaborates continuously with important humanitarian organizations that report the most urgent situations and with numerous doctors from the main Italian pediatric hospitals. For very serious clinical situations, for which a flight on a scheduled airplane is impossible, airplanes with medical equipment and dedicated health personnel are used to assist the little ones in flight. If necessary, the Foundation provides its support for the bureaucratic procedures required by Italian consular offices around the world, opening contacts and providing the necessary documentation for issuing visas.
