ISTAT for Flying Angels in 2024

For the eighth consecutive year, the ISTAT Foundation has renewed its support for the Flying Angels Foundation with a contribution that has allowed three children in a health emergency to fly to life-saving care. Assiya, Petrinah and Ajka are well today and have returned home to their families thanks to the trust that the Foundation has shown us again this year.

ISTAT Foundation

The International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading Foundation (ISTAT Foundation) supports individuals and institutions that promote the advancement of commercial aviation and humanitarianism.
Among other initiatives, The ISTAT Foundation provide grants to selected non-governmental, not-for-profit organizations around the globe that stress and use the power of aviation to help save lives, promote human well-being and alleviate suffering.

This is where the missions of ISTAT and Flying Angels met to give life to a project of continuous intervention.

ISTAT and Flying Angels, a shared Mission

In 2017 Flying Angels launched a fundraising project linked to the world of air transport that had significant resonance in the national and international press and media.
It is in this way that ISTAT Foundation became aware of the work of the Genoese Foundation and the two entities decided to begin a common path, destined to last over time, based on trust, transparency and the absolute coherence of their respective Missions.

8 years together, 50 children saved

Flying Angels proposes to the American Foundation several projects every year, always welcomed and supported, through which in totale sono stati aiutati 50 bambini: 25 attraverso voli aerei salvavita e 17 in occasione del finanziamento di una equipe che è potuta intervenire in loco, 8 in seguito all’emergenza Ucraina.

Assiya

Assiya

At the time of her flight, Assiya was about 2 years old. She comes from Ouagadougou, in Burkina Faso, and she had a complex heart disease.

Her hearth disease couldn't be treated in Burkina Faso and Flying Angels helped her to reach the ASST Niguarda Metropolitan Hospital , in Italy, for the life-saving surgery .

Assiya ora è a casa e in buona salute.

Petrinah

Petrinah had just turned 2 years old at the time of her life-saving flight. She is a child from Mukono, a small town near Kampala (Uganda).
Due to her serious heart desease, Petrinah needed to fly with oxygen onboard: Oxygen bottles have been settled on her flight and the child has been able to reach - safely and accompanied by her mother - Narayana Health Hospital in Bengaluru (India) at the beginning of November 2024.
Her post-operatory recover went well and the family was able to return home on 5th December 2024. Petrinah is now at home and in good health.

Ajka

Ajka

Ajka is a 6 months old little girl from Tirana, Albania, who had a congenital heart defect and a severe pulmonary stenosis. It was not possible to treat her in her home country, so one of our partner organizations based in Verona (Italy) asked Flying Angels to help Ajka with a life-saving flight.

Ajka ora è a casa e in buona salute.

Thanks to ISTAT Foundation for choosing to stay by our side this year too.
